Planeteco Ocean Master – Handmade Tide Clock
Meet the Planeteco Ocean Master — a beautifully simple way to follow the rhythm of the tides at a glance, and an intuitive introduction to how the moon shapes life by the sea.
A tide clock shows the natural rise and fall of the sea throughout the day, driven by the moon’s gravitational pull. Whether you live near the coast or simply enjoy understanding the world around you, the Ocean Master helps you see when tides are coming in or going out — ideal for beach walks, rock pooling, paddleboarding, fishing, sailing, or teaching children how the ocean responds to the moon.
Designed as a clear, family-friendly wall clock, the Ocean Master features our newly developed, highly accurate tide movement, offering reliable tracking of semi-diurnal tides (two tides per day). The informative, easy-to-read dial gives an immediate visual sense of the tidal cycle — no apps, tide tables or constant checking required.
Handmade in England from high-quality natural beech wood, each Ocean Master is crafted using traditional dovetail joints for strength and longevity. The large 30 cm clock face is easy to read from across the room, while the ultra-clear tempered glass lens and wooden tide hand add warmth and character. As a handcrafted piece, every clock is unique, with its own natural grain and subtle variations.
Built to last and designed to suit a wide range of interiors — from family homes and coastal cottages to classrooms, studios and calm living spaces — the Ocean Master brings the daily rhythm of the sea into everyday life in a way that feels intuitive, educational and grounding.
More than a clock, it’s a gentle reminder of the connection between the moon and the ocean — and a simple, beautiful way to make that relationship visible every day.

Product Guide
HOW TO SET YOUR TIDE CLOCK
- Obtain your local tide table and calendar with full moon information.
- Look up the time of today's high tide.
- Set your tide clock at high tide with the hand pointing straight up. Please
- note that the hand turns slowly (similar to the hour hand on a clock.)
- Insert your battery (1 x AA )
On the day of the next full moon, check the accuracy of the high tide time and reset if necessary. Do not re-adjust for winter/summer time.
Setting the clock on the Full Moon will achieve the minimum “error" throughout the whole month. Usually the discrepancy will be less than 30 minutes and therefore will be unnoticeable, although one or two days at the first and last quarter moon may have a greater difference.
Variations equalise during each lunar month so only check or verify its accuracy at the full moon.
MOUNTING YOUR TIDE CLOCK
- A mounting hole in the back allows you to mount your clock on a single nail screw.
A Tide clock allows you to 'sea at a glance’ what state the tide is at, whether it is coming in or going out and the time remaining before low and high tide.
